Getting not enough panels
|
Panels are between 20-30% of the install price. For the sake of pushing the sale price lower, salespeople will undersell the configuration to be below a threshold. BIG MISTAKE.

Ratio Lie
|
Micro Inverters convert DC to AC. Salespeople use the argument for selling weaker inverters because "the City will ONLY approve the solar install when the AC Wattage is less than 105%".
E.g.: A panel comes in 505 Watt but the inverter can only output 780 Watt from 2 Panels. that is 20% less output than the panel is producing. Stronger inverters cost more money which is lowering the chance for a sale. Seasonal output differences are also mentioned, but in the summer, when sunshine is plenty, weaker inverter reduce the production.

$0.00 out of pocket installs
|
Rule: NOTHING IS FREE. After getting 15 different quotes for the same project, the range came in between $24,000 and $99,780. The 24K was cash upon install, the 100K was financing. You be the judge of that.

Zero Interest
|
Zero interest is just for a short period, and then extraordinary interest rate will hit.
Make sure the zero interest is for 30 years and not hidden in an elevated purchase price.
One incident we encountered was where the Zero down 0 interest was $99K compared to $24K.
